The word on the street is that Bob Hart (D) is being seriously considered by local Democrats to replace Mike Gerber (D) on the ballot for State Rep for the 148th District in the the November election. Hart is currently a Township Supervisor in Whitemarsh. As we reported last week, Gerber withdrew from the race to take a position in the private sector.

Gerber was to face Conshohocken native and veteran Mike Ludwig. After Gerber’s withdrawal, Ludwig issued a statement to MoreThanTheCurve.com stating:

I wish Mike Gerber the best of luck with his new endeavors, and I look forward to pushing ahead with the campaign and hopefully representing the people of the 148th District.

Rumors from the local Democrats also point to someone from the Main Line also potentially replacing Gerber.

Plymouth Township is holding Plymouth Township Day on Saturday, June 12th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (rain date June 3rd).  There all all types of activities for kids and the family (click here to see a list of activities).  Plymouth Township Day wristbands will be on sale at the GPCC in advance for unlimited rides on the inflatable’s, game truck and photo booth.  Wristbands are not valid for games or food at  the event.

The Plymouth Meeting Friends School is holding its 75th annual Strawberry Festival on Saturday, June 2nd from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  The event will feature games, crafts, food, music and activities for all ages.

Starting Monday, April 2, 2012, the County will be doing resurfacing work on Butler Pike from Flourtown Road/Plymouth Road northbound to the Ambler Borough line. Milling and resurfacing of Butler Pike will be taking place at night from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Monday through Friday. The whole project is expected to be completed by Friday, April 13, 2012.

According to the Whitemarsh Township website, effective 6:00 a.m, Monday, April 2, 2012 the gate at Hagys Mill Road will be closed and locked at the direction of the City of Philadelphia. The gate will be opened at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and closed and locked at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays by Whitemarsh Township personnel for delivery and service needs of residents in the affected area.

The gate will be opened and closed in this manner until the Manor Road repair project is completed on or before July 13, 2012. To continue to address public safety concerns, Emergency Vehicles will be able to access and open the gate during emergency events 24/7.

Cantina Feliz has created a “Passover Feliz” menu featuring Passover dishes with a Mexican twist. The 4-course menu will be available from April 6 through April 13. The menu is designed to spice up the holiday with a little Mexican fun. You don’t have to celebrate Passover to enjoy these unique dishes. Their regular dinner menu and will be available that week too.

The 4-course Passover prix fixe is $30 per person plus tax and gratuity. This below menu meets most Passover requirements, but is not kosher. The tostadas are malanga (a root vegetable) and Boston bibb will be used for tacos shells. The restaurant is family-friendly.
